SOP on Operation procedure for Dispensing Booth

Objective: To lay down a procedure for operation of dispensing booth.

Scope: This procedure is applicable to the warehouse.

Responsibility: Officer or above, Warehouse shall be responsible for implementation of this SOP.

Accountability: Head – Warehouse shall be accountable for implementation and compliance of this SOP. 

Procedure:

Dispensing area shall be free from any material/document of the previous batch.

The waste bin must be clean & closed properly.

Check the status of the booth and ensure that a ‘CLEANED’ label duly filled and signed is displayed.

Switch “ON” the light by pressing button on the panel.

Switch “ON” the RLAF by pressing button on the panel.

Wait till the differential pressure shows the constant pressure.

Ensure that the differential pressure gauges show the following pressure drop as below:

Type of filters Filters Pressure Differential (mm of water)
Pre- filter 10 µ Pre-filter 1 – 5 mm
Fine-filter 5 µ Fine- filter 5 – 10 mm
HEPA-filter 0.3 µ (HEPA) 10 – 20 mm

 

In case the differential pressure across pre-filter goes below 1 mm or exceeding 5mm of water; dispensing activity shall not be carried out. Inform the Engineering department to rectify the fault & ensure the limits before starting the dispensing activity.

In case the differential pressure across fine filter goes beyond 10 mm of water, no dispensing activity shall be carried out.  Inform the Engineering Department to rectify the fault & ensure the limits before starting the dispensing activity.

In case the differential pressure across HEPA filter goes beyond 20 mm of water, no dispensing activity shall be carried out. Inform the Engineering Department to check the HEPA filter(s) & rectify the fault.

Record differential pressure at start of shift.

Ensure that laminar airflow is switched ‘’ON’’ for a minimum of 15 minutes before the start of dispensing operations.

Carry out dispensing as per “Dispensing & issuance of raw material(s) to production.

Precaution At the end of dispensing operations of the day:

Switch “OFF” the balances.

Switch “OFF” the light by pressing button on the panel.

Switch “OFF” the RLAF by pressing button on the panel.

Switch “OFF” the mains electric supply.

Affix ‘TO BE CLEANED’ label if machine is to be cleaned at another time subsequently.

Record dispensing & cleaning log for Dispensing Area”.
