SOP FOR OPERATION AND CLEANING OF DUST EXTRACTOR DRY SYRUP FILLING MACHINE
OBJECTIVE: To lay down the procedure for cleaning and operation of Dust Extractor Machine in Dry Syrup Filling.
SCOPE: This procedure is applicable to Dust Extractor Machine in Dry Syrup Filling area.
RESPONSIBILITY:
It is the responsibility of operator and production supervisors to follow the procedure as prescribed in SOP.
Officer Production/Supervisor or designee is responsible for execution of SOP and maintaining the Record.
Officer/Supervisor or designee of IPQA is responsible for the line clearance and verification of the related documents along with ensuring the compliance of SOP.
Technician/Officer or designee of engineering department is responsible for the maintenance/repair Work of the machine if any break down occurs during the operation.
Manager/Executive or designee of Production department is responsible for giving the training on regarding tasks and reviews the related records.
ACCOUNTABILITY: Head of the Production Department.
PROCEDURE:
Definitions: Dust generated during dry syrup filling is collected through hose pipe using dust extractor machine.
Pre-start up :
Visually check the equipment and area for its cleanliness.
Ensure “cleaned” label status on the equipment.
Ensure that the equipment is getting three phase alternating current supply.
Ensure that the de-dusting machine is in working condition.
Ensure that the operator is wearing proper gown, gloves and nose mask.
Ensure that filter bags are clean and dry.
Operation :
Replace “cleaned” label with “Under process” label.
Get the line clearance from In Process Quality Assurance (IPQA) person.
Attach feeding mouth of dust extractor machine with sacking pipe placed in between the wheel of dry syrup filling machine.
Switch “ON” the equipment along with the Dry Syrup Filling machine.
For Manual mode press manual button.
Press ON button to on the Out feed conveyor, Secondary Hopper, Primary hopper and Vacuum pump.
Dust will be collected in tray. Press NEXT button and ON the vacuum dosing valve.
On completion of operation, switch “Off” the equipment.
“ON” the dosing valve and Purging valve and START the machine.
Collect fine powder in poly bag from powder collection box after completion of the batch, record in BMR and discard.
Affix duly filled “TO BE CLEANED” Label on the equipment.
Record the equipment uses details in activity log book.
Cleaning at the time of batch changeover/same product of ascending potency: (Cleaning Type A )
Ensure power supply is switched “OFF”.
Open powder collecting tray, collect powder in poly bag and discard as per procedure.
Shake the filter cloth bag properly before, collect powder in poly bag and discard as per procedure.
Clean powder tray with dry lint free mop.
Clean the equipment and its parts with dry lint free mop thoroughly.
Affix ‘CLEANED’ label to Dust Extractor machine.
Cleaning at the time of product changeover/same product of descending potency/preventive maintenance of the contact parts: (Cleaning Type B)
Ensure power supply is switched “OFF”.
Open powder collecting tray, collect powder in poly bag and discard as per procedure.
Clean powder tray with purified water.
Dismantle the filter cloth bag in clean polythene and disconnected hose pipe, take to washing area and clean with purified water.
Dry all parts with compressed air and dry lint free mop.
Mope the contact change part with 70% IPA
Dry properly and assemble tray and filter bags.
Record cleaning activity in Usage log book.
Affix a “cleaned” label to Dust Extractor machine.
