SOP of BOD Incubator
The BOD incubator is a widely used instrument for testing the growth of bacteria and other microorganisms. Unlike a general purpose incubator, the BOD incubator has the ability to both cool and heat. This feature makes it suitable for a variety of applications and is often referred to as a Cooling incubator. Typically, the BOD incubator is used to maintain test temperatures ranging from 10°C to 25°C.
BOD Incubators are specifically designed to meet the incubation requirements for bod analysis of water and wastewater samples, fermentation studies, plant and insect studies, and bacterial culturing. These incubators are equipped with high-quality instruments that ensure the performance, quality, and reliability demanded by researchers and clinicians worldwide.
Our BOD Incubator systems, also known as low temperature incubators, are constructed using corrosion-resistant stainless steel and incorporate branded instruments. This ensures consistent and reliable results, providing a comfortable working environment at all times.
BOD Incubator Control Function:
Temperature: Our BOD Incubators have a standard temperature range of 5°C to 60°C. Temperature accuracy and uniformity are crucial during the incubation process. To ensure this, our incubators are equipped with a digital PID controller supported by a PT100 sensor. This controller displays both the set value (SV) and the process value (PV). The temperature accuracy is ± 0.5°C, and the uniformity remains at ± 1°C.
Illumination: We provide fluorescent or LED lights for illumination in our incubators. These lights can be operated using the door switch and can also be individually switched on or off permanently. As an additional option, we offer three tube lights on the door with a digital cyclic timer to control the illumination 24×7 weekly.
Safety: Our BOD Incubators come with various safety features. These include over-temperature and over-current protection, as well as a temperature low and high limit buzzer alert.
Cooling: To maintain the desired temperature, we utilize a CFC-free refrigeration system from reputable brands such as EMERSON or Godrej.
Heating: Heating is achieved using ISI mark U-shaped tubular air heaters.
Air circulation: Proper air circulation is essential for achieving uniform temperature distribution within the chamber. To achieve this, we employ axial fans or a motorized blower system.
Construction: Our BOD incubators are designed with durability in mind. The construction is double-walled, with the exterior made of thick mild steel and powder coated, while the interior is made of stainless steel. The gap between the walls is filled with PUF insulation. The outer door is solid, and there is an inner glass door for sample viewing. The outer door is equipped with a mechanical lock and key.
Trays: Each BOD Incubator is equipped with 2 to 5 removable and height-adjustable trays. These trays are made of steel wire mesh cable, and we also offer perforated stainless steel trays as an option.
21 CFR software, PC interface, and a Program Logic Control (PLC) based Touchscreen Display (HMI) controller with USB interface and validation port are available on either side of the machine.
Construction:
