SOP For Personal hygiene
OBJECTIVE: To lay down a procedure to prevent contamination of health supplement products by employees in the manufacturing area.
SCOPE: This standard operating procedure applies to employees who handle health supplement raw materials, packaging materials, in-process materials, and finished products in the manufacturing area.
RESPONSIBILITY:
It is the responsibility of the Management to appoint designated manufacturing employee(s) to perform personal hygiene inspection on all employees. Designated employee(s) involved in personal hygiene inspection shall have the relevant training and/or experience.
It is the responsibility of the appointed manufacturing employee(s) to carry out personal hygiene inspection, record and report.
It is the responsibility of the officer of the relevant departments and all employees to implement adequate corrective action/preventive action and ensured that they are followed-through.

PROCEDURE: Personal Hygiene
Every person should have bath every day and head bath at least twice a week.
They should have clean shave.
Hair should be cut short.
The nails should be trimmed short and clean ,no polish shall be on the nails
They should not wear any jewellery, watch, binds or false eyelashes.
They should not carry any eatables smoking, chewing materials in Production.
They should not be carrying any medicines in their pockets; if they have then it will be kept in change security office.
They should not eat, smoke, chew in production area.
Employees suffering from major illness or having open injuries should not enter the core production area.
In case of open wounds the employees should not be allowed in core Production area.
Female employees should wipe out their makeup and wash their face (for any cosmetics) before entering Production area.
After using toilet wash hands with soap solution dry using hot air blower and disinfect.
Every employee shall wash their hands before leaving the production area.
Hand washing – Before and after using the toilets, before and after eating, before entering the secondary Change rooms to the plant.
Explain the proper hand washing technique – Wet the hands using water, apply soap from dispenser and scrub including between your fingers and under nails. Rinse well with water and dry hands before entering to respective area.
Sanitize the hands using Isopropyl alcohol (70%v/v) before entering the plant premises.
Smoking, eating, drinking, chewing, and personal medicines should not be permitted in production, laboratory and storage areas, or in any other areas where they might adversely influence product quality.
Personal hygiene procedures including the use of protective clothing should apply to all persons entering production areas, whether they are temporary or full-time employees or non-employees, e.g. contractors’ employees, visitors and inspectors.
Men should habituate a clean- shaved feature. If not possible, then face mask / beard-cover has to be used before entering into the cleaned areas.
Females should maintain their hair pinned or clipped to the head. Hair should not be left open or at length within the factory premises.
Reporting of illness:
If a person is suffering from an illness which could cause a contamination to the colleagues, they report their illness to the concerned Supervisor.
The Concerned supervisor or designee decides about the potential of contamination, if required advises the person to go on leave for treatment under the supervision of a qualified doctor.
After total cure and on producing the Medical Fitness Certificate from the doctor only, the person is allowed to resume the work.
A qualified doctor means, doctors who possess the Bachelor’s degree in Medicine & has a minimum of 3 to 4 years of experience.
Use of Canteen, restroom, toilet:
Remove factory attire and footwear.
Use toilet slippers for visiting toilet.
Use your street cloths and sleepers for visiting canteen.
Immediately after using the toilets, restroom or canteen thoroughly wash & dry your hands.
Jewellery:
Remove rings, necklaces and earrings prior to entering the manufacturing or related area.
Treatment of injuries:
In case of injury, report immediately to the Head of the department or designee.
In the case of open wounds, cuts or scrapes immediately stop working and seek the necessary treatment.
Restrain from the work, until you have treated the injury sufficiently and are fit for the work.
