SOP on Procedure for cleaning and storage of sampling devices

  • OBJECTIVE
  •  To lay down the procedure for Cleaning and storage of sampling devices.
  • SCOPE
  • This SOP shall be applicable for  Cleaning of all type of Sampling devices.

  • PROCEDURE
  • After the sampling, keep the sampling devices (Sampling rods, sampling spoons and spatulas) in a poly bags labelled as “to be cleaned”.
  • Wash the sampling devices thoroughly with running potable water for approximately 2-3 minutes, with mild scrubbing with hand if required.
  • Finally rinse the sampling devices with Purified water.
  • Remove excess of water using compressed air and dry the tools in the oven at 60°C for four hours and put the sampling devices in a fresh poly bag to transfer it to drying oven.
  • Place the sampling devices in clean poly bags and label them as cleaned and store them in the stainless steel containers.
